Mermaid Tail Blanket

Mermaid Tail Blanket 8I finished up a mermaid tail blanket for my great niece Olivia.  She looks so adorable as a mermaid.  Her mom told me that she really loves these types of blankets so I got started on one right away.  Olivia loves pink and I was able to find some really great yarn for this project.

I picked up this Homespun yarn at Michael’s using many, many coupons.  The pattern called for 6 skeins of yarn and I double stranded the whole blanket.  I used the “MJ’s Off the Hook Designs Pattern” to make this super soft mermaid blanket.  If interested, you can purchase the pattern yourself HERE.

Mermaid Tail Blanket 3 This top section is the blanket part above the cocoon.  I love this yarn but it was very difficult to see the holes to work through.  I think I only survived because I wanted to make a very special little girl happy.  I am glad she loved it and I hope she gets lots of use out of it.

Mermaid Tail Blanket 7 Here is a photo of my daughter modeling the blanket for size.  Checking to make sure everything is secure and that I don’t have any holes anywhere.  I have a feeling she may want one of these for herself…LOL
