Emerson’s “Mr. Porkers”

mr. porkers 1 Mr. Porkers is an amigurumi pig that I made for Emerson.  His initial name was Clive but Emerson preferred Mr. Porkers, so Mr. Porkers it is…

mr. porkers 3I got this pattern out of a book called “Cuddly Crochet” by Stacey Trock.  You can also find this pattern HERE on ravelry.  I love all of the animals she has in her book.  They are so much fun to make.  I finished up  this pig in about 4 days.

I wish I could get the body parts together as well as Stacey Trock can.  Mine always look a little funny once they are put together.  I still haven’t figured out what I am doing wrong.  I have a lot of trouble when it comes to putting the head on.  It just doesn’t seem to sit on the body like I want it to.  My goal is to eventually do one of these animals and have them look like the original.  Wish me luck.

mr. porkers 2I used the Stylecraft Aran yarn to make this piggy.  I used black and fondant for the colors.  The stylecraft yarn is the perfect yarn to make animals.  The colors are just so vibrant.  You can purchase this yarn HERE.

I purchased my yarn on Deramores online, but it would take quite a while to get from England.  I have since found a new store in the USA @ “loveknitting.com”.  They have great prices and free shipping is offered on purchases of $50 or more.
